It Can All Hang Out In Fort Smith Public Schools But the Confederate Flag

The city of Fort Smith, Arkansas may be familiar to many people. It has been pictured in many Western movies. It is the city where Judge Isaac Parker, the “hanging judge” presided over his court. Judge Parker sentenced over 70 people to hang during his judicial career, and from what I have read over the years, they probably deserved it. Others who probably deserved it and didn’t get hung, through lawyers intervening in their cases one way or another. One movie I saw years ago, “True Grit” had one of Judge Parker’s marshals, played by John Wayne, referring to the legal representatives in Fort Smith as “pettifogging lawyers.”

I’ve only been to Fort Smith once, back in the 1970s, but I remember it as a distinctly Southern town. But that was then, not now. That insidious political disease known an Political Correctness (in reality it’s Cultural Marxism) has quietly seeped into many places in the South to the point where often you can hardly tell you are in the South anymore.

Suffice it to say that the public school system in Fort Smith has now imbibed in Cultural Marxism in regard to Confederate symbols like so many other places. Given the history of the public school system I guess we really shouldn’t be surprised. Untortunately, I am afraid that many who should know the real history don’t, and so they climb aboard the dumbed-down bandwagon also.

According to the Times Record a local attorney, Joey McCutchen (they aren’t all bad) is suing the Fort Smith School Board because of their decision to remove the Confederate flag, the “Dixie” fight song, and the school mascot from Southside High School in Fort Smith.

According to the Times Record article: “The move, according to a statement from the school district came after ‘giving great consideration to the continuing impact of perceived symbols of racism on the community, state, and nation’.” So we are removing all Confederate symbols all across the country now because they are “perceived symbols of racism.” They don’t actually have to be “racist” symbols–all they have to do is to be “perceived” as that and that’s more than enough for the usual knee’jerk reaction from all the politically correct types stepping out from under their leftist rocks.

McCutchen is suing the school board on behalf of a Fort Smith resident, Curtis Sorrells, and the suit cites violation of the open meetings provision of the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act.  The suit said that the publicized agenda for the June 23 School Board Committee of the Whole meeting called only for a closed meeting for discussion of Superintendent Benny Gooden’s yearly performance.  The purpose of this notice was to lead members of the public and media into believing that the meeting was solely to discuss a personnel issue and that the meeting would not be open to the public.”

It was at this closed meeting according to 5newsonline.com that “members voted to recommend changing Southside High School’s mascot and fight song. Fort Smith attorney Joey McCutchen filed the lawsuit claiming the school board violated the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act by holding a committee vote without notifying the public.” Well, yes, if you are going to work for the cultural demise of a large group of your students you obviously don’t want to do it openly. McCutchen said: “The school board did not say one word about why they were for or against, and that is concerning, so I think we, the voters, need to come out. We need to get a school board that will engage us in the process because that’s what our government stands for.” Actually it may be what government used to stand for. Nowadays it stands for whatever it can get away with! One Confederate flag supporter said “I’m tired of all the political bull.” Friend, you better hang onto your Confederate flag because all this ain’t going away any time soon.

We have to understand that all these incidents, and so many have been reported that you can’t cover them all, are all part of one fabric–one agenda–and most of these public schools are just itching to find a reason, any reason, to ban Confederate symbols of any kind. The only thing that will stop them is a massive turnout of local citizens protesting what they are trying to do, citizens telling them that if they remove Confederate symbols then their children will no longer attend that school but will find educational alternatives. They’d be better off finding educational alternatives anyway, but that’s the kind of thing school boards might respond to, as most local school districts get federal funding based on how many students attend their schools and if a particular school ends up losing 75-100 students that will adversely affect what they get from the feds. They can understand that.

The Fort Smith situation shows us a couple things. For one, there are some decent lawyers out there who do try to do the right thing. I have known, over the years, a handful of Christian lawyers who do strive to make their faith part of their law practice.

For another thing, we should start checking out on the Internet the number of these cases that have shown up since the Charleston shootings. I’ve done some of that and, believe me, they are legion and they all seem to follow a similar pattern, which means they are all part of a preconceived agenda. Hence they are not, in any way, locally spontaneous. All the people involved in different communities may not all know one another, but there is a common thread that runs through all these attempts at banning anything Confederate, whether it be in schools, whole towns, or wherever. These people are all operating off the same blueprint. So you have to ask–where did the blueprint come from?

As the Times Record article noted, Confederate symbols are perceived symbols of racism. That in no way makes the perception accurate, but then, the leftists and those who finance them really don’t care about that anyway. Their aim is to get people thinking in a certain direction that serves their purpose. Whether that direction is accurate or not (and it usually isn’t) makes not one iota of difference.

That this is a campaign of ethnic cleansing by the left should be apparent by looking at those who support it, the NAACP and the Southern Poverty Law Center, along with a host of lesser leftist luminaries.  No one in their right mind could ever consider such groups as “objective” or “middle of the road” no matter what the “news” media tells us. So start checking out some of these outfits that promote ethnic cleansing and cultural genocide in regard to Confederate history and culture. You won’t like what you find if you do the homework. And when you do find it, you should heed the biblical admonition in Ephesians 5:11 and expose it.

Mary’s Brother Wants To Remove General Lee

Some of you may remember Mary Landrieu, the former senator from Louisiana who was such a gung-ho supporter of Obamacare and other socialist schemes. Her continuing support for the current Marxist regime finally cost her the senate seat she had held forever, or so it seemed.

I haven’t kept up with Mary’s daily activities since she departed from the “District of Corruption” so I don’t know what pies she’s got her fingers into now, but you can bet, knowing the socialist mindset, she ain’t sitting home knitting doilies. Neither is her brother, Mitch, the current mayor of New Orleans. It seems that brother Mitch has jumped on the leftist bandwagon in regard to removing Confederate monuments in New Orleans.

So far here in Louisiana we had been spared much of the ethnic cleansing that has been going on in so many other Southern states. I’ve enjoyed watching the pickup trucks in my area with big Confederate Battle Flags on them. I’ve seen more in the past 3 weeks than in the almost thirteen years we’ve been here and there was a big Confederate flag rally over in West Monroe last July 14th. So the sentiments of average folks are for keeping the flag and the monuments.

However, you have to realize that Mayor Mitch and the other socialists in Louisiana are not average folks. Average folks don’t have an agenda. The socialists do–and a large part of that agenda is the wanton destruction of Southern and Christian culture. And you will get that from some of these socialists that even go to church. Church is a good cover for socialists and it fools lots of folks who should know better but don’t. I never forgot the saying from years ago (and it’s still true) “not many preachers become Communists but lots of Communists become preachers.”

At any rate, Mayor Mitch (who knows if Sister Mary is helping or not) has decided that his opening salvo against Confederate heritage will be fired at Lee Circle, one of the oldest monuments now standing in New Orleans. I’ve seen a picture of it and it’s a beautiful monument with General Lee standing at the top.

The Human Relations Commission in New Orleans supposedly makes it unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of age, color, creed, gender identification, gender or sex, marital status, national origin, ancestry…disability, race, religion, and so on. According to a communication from the Sons of Confederate Veterans: “The Human Relations Commission is holding a public hearing to discuss the question of whether to remove Robert E. Lee Statue, PGT Beauregard statue, Battle of Liberty Place monument, Jefferson Davis statue.  That will open the door and set a precedence to changing all things Confederate later.” You see, in this case, the Human Relations Commission has chosen to ignore the “national origin/ancestry” part of their charge when it comes to Confederate monuments. All that stuff applies to everyone but white folks it would seem.

The SCV communication continued: “The New Orleans Human Relations Commission will hold a public hearing on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 6 pm in the City Council Chamber, 1300 Perdido Street on code section 146-611–Removal from public property by request from the New Orleans City Council, evaluation and recommendation: Robert E. Lee statue, PGT Beauregard statue, Battle of Liberty Place monument, Jefferson Davis statue. If you would like to submit a comment, please complete the feedback form below.  The comment period will close at 5 pm on Tuesday, August 11.  Comments received before 5 pm on August 11 will be included as part of the official public record…When you leave your comments, be polite and Southern. Be sure that you cite discrimination based upon heritage (one of the criteria) The New Orleans Human Rights Laws make it unlawful to discriminate in.” 

It would be good if lots of Confederate-minded folks in the New Orleans area could make it to that August 13th hearing because you can bet the farm that the leftists will be there to deep six your Confederate heritage and Christian culture if they can get away with it. Remember–their agenda is your destruction.

To Change the History Just Lie About It

The actual history of the War of Northern aggression has always had its detractors who have wanted to make the historical record say what they wanted it to say. The manifestations of their  disease have been present in this country since Appomattox and they continue to this day.

Their solution to making the history say what they wish it said is, quite frankly, to lie about it. Just change a few words here and there, a phrase or two someplace else, and you can make the history say what you wish it said but doesn’t. Unfortunately, most folks won’t realize that it doesn’t and they end up buying the same historical swill that has made the Cultural Marxists ideologically sick.

A friend who lives in Tulsa, Oklahoma recently took note of how the history is being manipulated so that future generations won’t realize they are being lied to. He is a member of the Confederate Society of America, an organization that tries to present accurate history to Southern folks (and others too) and so he is on the lookout for these egregious breaches of historical truth. He recently came across one in Tulsa which he addressed with a letter.

He said: Dear Southwest Tulsa Chamber, “One of the new historical plaques at Crystal City is making an attempt at rewriting history, and is slandering our brave Confederate dead in the process. The plaque in question refers to the war of 1861-65 as the War of Southern Aggression.  The South most assuredly was NOT the aggressor in that needless war, but it was the North that illegally invaded the South, not on any moral issue of freeing the slaves, as is the common myth taught in our schools, but for the continuation of extracting excessive tariffs from the South…We live in a time when cultural terrorists are defacing and removing symbols of our history and culture all across this land. This is no different than the Nazis or ISIS destroying books, history and monuments in an attempt to purge the earth of history. This cultural genocide must not be appeased but must be fought…I respectfully request that the last sentence of the plaque in error be stricken from it.”

You can see, from this gentleman’s letter, how history is changed by changing one little word. Thankfully, the Confederate Society and other Southern and Confederate groups are watching and reporting on what the politically correct (Cultural Marxists) are trying to do with our history. If there were no one out there keeping tabs on them they could, literally, get away with historical murder.

The Cultural Marxists make their biggest gains when there is no one out there to refute what they try to say and do. When they run into resistance from those who know the truth it tends to put a crimp in their agenda. I just read an article yesterday on The Gateway Pundit about a councilman in Anniston, Alabama who thought he could take tinpot dictatorship to a new level. The author, Jim Hoft, noted: “Earlier this month Anniston Alabama Council member David Reddick stopped by Ford’s Barbershop on Leatherwod Road on the western outskirt of Anniston and demanded owner Milton Ford take down the Confederate Battle flag outside his shop. Of course, owner Ford refused. That’s when Reddick started threatening the owner with what he would do to him for flying the Confederate flag at his own business and on his own property.” Mr. Ford, who apparently knew his rights, wasn’t having any of it. He swore out a complaint against the councilman for harassment. Councilman Reddick was arrested. Oh he’s out on bond now and I assume he will have to go to trial.

Reddick is a prime example of tinpot dictatorship run wild, thinking because he may not like the Confederate flag he has the right to tell everyone who has one up, even on private property, to take it down. This is the kind of behavior on the part of “public officials” that needs to be resisted.

And when they manage to coerce people into taking their flags down, what are they replacing them with? Well, in Reno, Nevada this past weekend they took down the Stars and Stripes and replaced it with the LGBT rainbow flag. So you folks that don’t have any problem with taking down Confederate flags better keep your eyes open, too, because the day is coming when they will come for your flag and try to take it down just like you are willing to let them do to ours. I realize they only put that flag up for the weekend, but still, it’s the principle of the thing. When you take the Stars and Stripes down and replace it with that flag you’ve set a precedent–and not a very good one.

Our culture, particularly in the South, is under attack. Unfortunately, most in the North will have no problem with that–until they come for your flags and then it will be a different story.

The Left Is A Weapon Of Cultural Destruction For the Internationalists

Regardless of all the blather out there that emanates from the so-called “news” media about the political and religious left being full of concern and compassion for the plight of mankind it is all a “cunningly devised fable.”

The left is nothing more than an engine of cultural destruction to be used against those who do not bow the knee to the ruling Establishment–those who promote the New World Order and its agenda. When resistance surfaces against this One World Government worldview then the Powers That Be will call the leftists out from under whatever collectivist rocks they may be hiding under and turn them loose of the resistance and from thereon the leftists destroy as much as they can–culturally, physically, emotionally. In doing what its master directs  it to do the left not only attacks  the Truth (the Christian faith) but it attacks ordinary people who do not even realize they are under assault or why.

This recent and ongoing attempted purge against Confederate  flags and symbols is a prime example. Many on the far left are now roaming around tearing down Confederate flags, burning them, defacing Confederate statues and monuments, committing mayhem against ordinary citizens and some of them are actually convinced they are doing the great work of “destroying racism”. These are the leftists’ “useful idiots.” They destroy good, thinking they are destroying evil. Actually all they are doing is displaying to the world that they are every bit as “racist” as they accuse others of being. But then, accusing others of what you yourself are guilty of is a standard Marxist tactic, so that should surprise no one that has done the homework.

In the past few weeks I have been inundated with pictures and emails showing what the political and religious left are currently engaged in. Someone sent me a photo of how they had defaced a Confederate soldiers’s statue in Reidsville, North Carolina. The statue had all manner of graffiti painted or sprayed on it, some of which you could actually read. The Reidsville statue had painted on its base “Black Lives Matter.” Although they would  at least some of them, deny it, what they are doing is telling you that the rest of your lives and your culture don’t matter if you are not black.

One thing I have noticed, so far, is that those who deface these Confederate monuments usually seem to do it with red and black paint. Why no other colors? Why no blue? No yellow? They are telling you something if you think about it. They are telling you who is doing it and where it comes from. All the Confederate statues I have seen pictures of that have been defaced have all been done with these two colors. You’d think some leftist from somewhere in the South would be original enough to use a different color–but no, it’s always red and black. How “spontaneous!”

A lot of these black leftists howl about wanting “equality” with everyone else. Don’t believe it! They don’t want equality–they want preference!  It’s all about getting power and rubbing everyone else’s nose in the dirt when you do. And in this they share the “vision” of their Internationalist masters.

Someone sent me a photo of a cemetery in Georgia where the headstones of several of the Confederate soldiers buried there had been knocked over. These people are so dastardly they can’t even let the dead rest in peace. Look at what’s going on in Memphis with Bedford Forrest’s grave. How low do you have to be to dig up someone who has been buried 110 years?

Someone else sent me a picture of a house in Bessemer, Alabama that had been flying  a Confederate flag–at least they had until someone drove by the house and fired shots into it.

Folks, these kinds of actions are terror tactics. This is the kind of things that terrorists do to scare people so they will just cave into the terrorists’ agenda–or the agenda of whoever is financing and motivating the terrorists. If you want to find out about the kind of people that are doing that you can get on the Internet and look up Gary Allen’s book None Dare Call It Conspiracy.  Or look up his other book The Rockefeller File. That will give you some idea of who pulls the leftists’ strings.

These kinds of terrorist acts are the sum total of what the left has to contribute to any debate about anything, be it Confederate flags or whatever. They are great at destroying private property because they have no use for that anyway, except where they can control it. And if they can control it, then it’s alright, because, after all, they are using it for the benefit of “the people.” Just don’t ever ask what “people.”

For all their prating about “diversity” and “multi-culturalism” this is the best the leftists can do–defacing a Confederate statue by painting “Black Lives Matter” on its base. This time their tactics don’t seem to be working real well overall. I have seen more Confederate flags on the back of pickup trucks in this area in the last week or two than ever I did previously.

So let’s keep those flags flying and those flag rallies going and lets “keep the skeer” on those gutless politicians  who would sell out our heritage and culture for what they think is a chance to win the next election.. Let’s let them know that if they persist in embracing this Cultural Marxism, the only way they will win the next election is if it is rigged!

Leftist And Establishment Strategy For Attacking Southern Culture

Recently I pulled a book off my bookshelf entitled Embattled Banner written by Don Hinkle. It was originally published in 1997 and went through three printings, the last being, to my knowledge, in 1999. As I browsed through it, I noted that apparently I had never read it before. There was nothing underlined, and no notations for pages marked off at the front of the book. At this point I have no idea where I got it (probably at a conference somewhere) or when.

As I got into it, and it is worth the read if you can still find one, I could see that Mr. Hinkle was dealing with how the religious and political left sought to attack the Confederate battle flag and Confederate symbols in general back in the 1990s. They used the same Maexist “Critical Theory” techniques they are using today. And why not? Because people continue to be ignorant about them they work.

Mr. Hinkle made some interesting observations  about what they did back then and I think it behooves us to be aware of and to think about them today.

He noted, on page 163: “Such strategy has been used by anti-flaggers throughout the South ever since the battle flag debate surfaced. In short, their strategy is this: Go in and agitate; get rid of what you can and then pull back; wait for things to calm down, then return and wipe out the rest. It’s doubtful that many Todd countians, (Kentucky) knew about the NAACP resolution and the attacks on Southern heritage sweeping their region. Like most throughout the South, flag supporters were caught off guard and were woefully rusty on the true history of the battle flag and other Confederate symbols.”  Hopefully, defenders of Confederate flags and symbols are a little better informed today. However, for those who are not, it still means you have to do a little homework so you will be able to refute the leftist garbage they will try to throw at you.

During this latest Cultural Marxist assault on the South we have seen the beginning of a resistance movement, a backlash if you will. Confederate flag rallies have been held all across the South, over 100 so far, I am told. And, if you are gullible enough to believe the rank propaganda put out by outfits like the Southern Poverty Law Center then you have been told that everyone of them was sponsored by some sort of hate group.

The public, in general, seems to have resisted this latest onslaught fairly well (or you wouldn’t be having all these rallies). The gutless politicians they have elected to office haven’t. In the main, they have folded like a tent in a Montana blizzard, trying to outdo each other as to who can be the most politically correct (Culturally Marxist).  And if you live in the real world you have to know that the “news” (and I use that term very loosely) media has zestfully promoted the Marxist line in regard to Confederate symbols.

Seeing that there has been a fair amount of resistance to the latest cultural purge, I am wondering if the Powers That Be, the CFR and the Trilaterals, will start to reign in the leftists and let things quiet down for awhile before they begin their final “Normandy Invasion” of the cultural environment of the South. That would give most Southern folks who have protested this stuff time to calm down, to go back home and to get back into their normal pattern of living again before they make their final push for complete repudiation of anything Confederate or Southern. Once folks have gotten worked up and protested something that is inherently evil, and then gone home to rest and recuperate, it’s hard to get them up and moving again.

This was the same leftist technique that those pushing the rotten public school textbooks in Kanawha County, West Virginia in the mid-1970s used. When the parents’ resolution against the textbooks was really hard and firm, the Powers That Be proposed a “cooling off” period where the questionable texts would be “reviewed” and while this was being done everyone would go home and relax. At the end of the cooling off period, it was a month if I recall correctly,  the book “reviewers” came back and said, basically, “nothing wrong with these books they’re just great. Don’t know what the fuss was all about.” And back into the public schools they went! They had succeeded in breaking the protest, for all intents and purposes, because after the “cooling off” period it was almost impossible to get folks concerned enough to do it all over–and they knew that when they proposed it!

I would keep my eyes open for something along that same line with this latest assault on the Confederate flag.  If they sense determined resistance to their agenda, they may well pull back until they feel the resistance has begun to wane and then they will return fill blast and as the man said “You won’t have seen nuthin’ yet.”

You have to realize one thing with these anti-Confederate, anti-Southern people–your destruction as a people is a main part of their agenda and they will not ever quit. I don’t believe most Southern folks realize this. Oh, they may retreat here and there (take one step back so they can take two forward later) and you will think they’ve quit–but they haven’t. They will always be back and you have always got to be there to resist them. For them, the War of Northern Aggression will not be over until they have conquered you not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well–and you need to realize this.

The Real Hate-Mongers Are On the Left

There is an old saying, I don’t know who originated it, but the Marxists and their allies have often used it in principle. It is “Condemn others and elevate yourself.” In other words, if you are doing something really reprehensible what you should do is to accuse your opposition of what you are doing and thereby focus peoples’ attention on them rather than on yourself. Often this works well and you can continue doing what you are doing while blaming your opposition for it and the people that can’t be bothered to do a little homework don’t know the difference. They just buy whatever you have said and, thereby, become “useful idiots” for the left’s current hate campaign.

This is exactly the situation we see with the current purge of all things Confederate going on. If you really look closely you can see leftist vitriol and hate manifesting itself in all of this. Who in his right mind would want to dig up the graves of Nathan Bedford Forrest and his wife, who have been dead for over 100 years? That kind of overt disrespect and disregard really has to be deep-seated. As bad as he was, has anyone seen anybody on the right seek to have Stalin disinterred? Or any of the other brutal Communist dictators?

The theological and political left have really displayed an amazing amount of hate against those they disagree with, to the point of having their memory expunged from public view, all for the “noble” cause of “fighting racism.” Of course when promoting hate and division it always helps to drape yourself in the robes of (self)righteousness and to present your cause as the one that is promoting “inclusiveness” when, in reality, that is the last thing you are about.

The theological left seems to have changed what the Scripture says (nothing new for them) and now the new unforgivable sin is “racism” instead of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and we must now partake of all manner of horrible deeds to expunge the world of “racism.” Kind of like the cartoon I saw years ago showing people at a “peace” rally carrying signs that said “kill for peace.”

Pastor Chuck Baldwin summed some of this up pretty well in a column he wrote on July 9th. He said: “And look what is happening now; in one instant–after one deranged young man killed nine black people and who ostensibly photo-shopped a picture of himself with a Confederate flag–the entire political and media establishments in the country go on an all-out crusade to remove all semblances of the Confederacy.” And then Pastor Baldwin made a statement that I and many others consider to be the real crux of the matter. He said: “The speed in which all this has happened suggests that this was a planned, orchestrated event by the Powers That Be (PTB). And is it a mere coincidence that this took place at the exact same time that the U.S Supreme Court decided to legalize same-sex marriage? I think not.” Lots of other folks “think not” too, Pastor.

And Pastor Baldwin also observed, and this, I think, is the real crux of the matter, that: “May I tell you that the Confederate Flag is indeed a Christian flag because it has the cross of St. Andrew, who was a Christian martyr, and the letter ‘X’ has always been used to represent Christ, and to attack the flag is to deny the sovereignty, the majesty, and the might of the Lord Jesus Christ and His divine role in our history, culture and life.” And that, in my opinion, is what it is really all about. Under the noble-sounding euphemism of “combatting racism” the left is really attacking what they realize is a Christian symbol and thereby expressing their extreme hatred for anything Christian.

The Confederate Flag has been noted around the world  as a symbol of resistance to tyrants and that is another reason the left hates it. They are potentially tyrannical in their worldview and therefore they hate anything that is a symbol of resistance to any of their agendas. And remember also, that the left in this country is directed and funded by a group we could call the “shadow government.” These are the same people that give many of our “elected” officials their marching orders, and they, along with the leftists, hate “we the people.” And they especially hate the Christians among us because they recognize, in the Christian faith, a potential challenge to their tyranny and, if the truth be known, they hate Jesus Christ. In the final analysis that’s what it all comes down to.

The theological and political left hates the Christian faith and any culture that springs from that faith and they seek the destruction of such. But they can’t come out and say that openly at this point. So they seek to camouflage their intense hatred with expressions of “concern” about “racism” and the lack of “inclusiveness” and all manner of sophistries about compassion. You might well paraphrase that expression used by evangelists “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life.” The leftist version of that is “The left hates you and has a wonderful plan for your destruction.” Remember, the Scripture says “God is love” but we also need to recognize in the real world that the leftists and their handlers are the biggest haters there are.

From the Liberal Left To the Loony Left They All Hate Confederate Flags And Symbols

In recent days I have continued to observe as the theological and political left continues to orchestrate its assault against anything and everything Confederate. Some of their suggestions really swing to the loony side and some of their writers literally froth at the mouth. Their hatred of anything Southern or Confederate is really intense and unremitting. These people are not about to cease and desist. They see, at this point, a very real possibility of destroying Southern and Christian culture in the South and they want to be in for the kill! Most Southern folks don’t begin to grasp this. They need to.

There was an article on http://www.salon.com  on July 10th the headline for which was: “Let’s make the Confederate flag a hate crime: It is the American swastika and we should recoil from its horror.” The author of this loving and compassionate article is a Nick Bromell, who is a professor of American Studies at Massachusetts University at Amhurst. You almost had to know an article with this much anti-Southern vitriol had to originate with a Massachusetts leftist. I checked Professor Bromell out to see where he was coming from (though I already had a pretty good hunch). Turns out he’s pretty close to my age. I would have thought, from his style of writing, that he was a twenty-something frustrated youngster who was venting his angst about the South at the world.

He ended his Salon article with this little tidbit: “Has the age of ‘enmity’ finally ended?  Has the ‘malignant spirit’ finally died away? Has the ‘pestilence’ finally abated?  The answer to all these questions is ‘no’. The hateful actions of Dylann Roof remind us of that. So do the white supremacist websites Roof found appealing. So do the many Confederate flags displayed in places across the South–and beyond–today, emblazoning T-shirts, affixed to car bumpers, and worn as lapel pins in business suits.” So we supposedly have to get rid of all our flags and symbols because, to this professor and others of his ilk, they represent “hate.” Just so happens that one of Professor Bromell’s areas of study, and the name of a course he has taught, is “Emerson and Du Bois.” Apparently he feels that Emerson the Unitarian and Du Bois the Communist have something in common–and if you grasp the socialist bent of Unitarianism, they probably do .Bromell’s article exhibits the utmost in what many have labeled as “liberal love.”

Problem with the leftists is that what they really want to do is to edit history to make it say what they wish it said. If they can’t do that then they’d like to make sure laws are passed that would allow them to have removed from history the parts they don’t like and to make it a crime for anyone to believe any other version of history than theirs.

In this vein, I also ran across another article, and maybe this one could be considered to come from the loony left. It was about another college professor. It was on a site called Red Alert and was written by Ryan Girdusky on July 9th.  It’s brief. He states:” An assistant college professor claimed on Twitter that all whites have benefitted from slavery and are complicit in that evil institution that was abolished nearly 150 years ago. And when asked what whites should do to remedy this situation, Professor Adam Kotsko said whites must ‘commit mass suicide’.” There was a picture of Professor Kotsko with the article, and he’s as white as I am. One can only assume, given his suggestion, that he will step up and be first in line to do what he has suggested for the rest of us, right? Right? And someone may have suggested that to him because he later claimed that he didn’t really mean it and that no one should have taken him seriously.

It absolutely gives me the shivers to think that people today, in any area of the country, still send their kids blithely off to college to be taught by professors like the two noted in this article. What can you be thinking of to send your kids off to be taught this kind of stuff? This isn’t even high-grade bovine fertilizer!

Folks, it should be starting to be apparent, and we have got to get it though our heads–the religious and political left is at war with us, our faith, and our culture, and if we keep going on the way we have been, we will hand them the victory by sheer default. They are actively seeking and working to overthrow our entire system of faith and culture (they hate Christianity and even the thought of the old Confederacy), practicing cultural genocide on our entire region, and we are arguing when them about license tags!

We have been fighting a rear-guard action against those people for decades. Maybe it’s time for Christians and Confederates to change their tactics and do a little offensive battle. We’ve been reacting to what they’ve been working to do do us. That’s why the left calls us reactionaries! Could be we need to find ways not to just fight back, but to go on the offensive where we can determine to do that.

It’s interesting  that most Southern folks have not yet perceived that most of the vitriol directed against them and their culture has been coming from the left, and from the One World Government crowd (is there any difference between the two?). To put it bluntly, they want us gone. They with want our kids gone or brainwashed out of their minds so they don’t know upside down from inside out. They want our Christian faith trashed and our Southern culture disposed of and they are not ashamed to admit that. And we’re still out there trying to “be nice” to them so that maybe they’ll let us alone! That will never happen. Maybe it’s time we took the gloves off and threw a few punches. The left is not invulnerable. Let’s start trying to find their Achilles heel and seek the Lord’s help when we do. Praying some of the imprecatory psalms might be one good place to begin.

Is “Being Offended” Over Confederate Symbols the New National Pastime?

As my wife and I pulled into the parking lot of the grocery store where we do our shopping this morning I noticed a pickup truck parked in the lot with a Confederate Naval Jack on a pole, stuck in the back of the truck.  The flag had a yellow smiley face on it, and around the smiley face was written: “If this flag offends you then you have made my day.”

While I probably would not have said it quite that way, I can understand the sentiment of the flag owner. I might have said “If this flag offends you then you need a history lesson” or something to that effect, which would have been a true statement. As a Christian, I don’t intentionally set out to “offend” anyone, but I will, to the best of my ability, seek to tell the truth and if that offends someone, then that’s just the way it is. Speaking the truth in love still offends those who don’t want the truth or who don’t want others to have it.

I have watched this past couple weeks (not with wonder anymore; I’m long past that) as the “news” media, the politicians, and various other liars on the left have continued their unremitting purge of anything Southern or Confederate. They remain unabated in their endeavors at ethnic cleansing in the South, and quite frankly, they don’t give a tinker’s damn about who they “offend” in the South. Yet we in the South are supposed to weep and wail because we have “offended” them with our flags and symbols and because we refuse to cave in to their hackneyed rhetoric over what the War of Northern Aggression was really all about. They howl that it was about slavery and treason on the part of the South and they become easily “offended” when we won’t believe such drivel.

Our newly virtuous Congress (the Lord reward them according to their works) has now voted to ban Confederate flags at historical federal cemeteries in the South. According to a news article on http://www.al.com  “The low profile move came Tuesday evening after a brief debate on a measure funding the National Park Service, which maintains 14 national cemeteries, most of which contain graves of Civil War soldiers. The proposal by Rep. Jared Huffman, D-Calif., added language to block the Park Service from allowing private groups to decorate the graves of Southern soldiers with Confederate flags in states that celebrate Confederate Memorial Day…” So, if you have a Confederate ancestor buried in one of these federal cemeteries, then he is not worthy to have a small flag placed on his grave like the federal dead close by. He is a second-class corpse. Anyone “offended” by that? If you aren’t, then maybe you should be. It bothers me and I have no Confederate ancestors that I am currently aware of. It’s the whole idea of it. Some war dead can be remembered, but you nasty Southern folk–you can’t remember your dead–they’re not fit to remember. After all, they carried Confederate flags! Congress has thus decreed it. All the bodies in these graveyards are equal but some are a tad more equal than others.

Remember, this is the same Congress that declared that, when the Republicans took over, they would repeal Obamacare. Aren’t you glad you didn’t hold your breath waiting for that little event to occur?

Being “offended” is a new “right” for some folks in this country. Those on the left have the new right to be perpetually offended at what and who they don’t like and they practice that “right” with vim and vigor. And the rest of us are supposed to react by removing whatever it is that “offends” the leftists today. Have any of you stopped to think about what this boils down to? Folks in the South are second-class citizens.

The left, both religious and political, hate your flags, your faith, and your symbols, and for that reason you are supposed to remove them from sight and memory posthaste. Honestly, doesn’t that tick you off just a wee bit? Or has your public school  “education” dumbed you down so much (as it was intended to) so that you don’t know or care about much of anything and think you are brilliant?

Thankfully, (though the media will never tell you) there are some folks in the South that care enough to resist this Stalinist purge against their flags, faith, and heritage. But why aren’t there more??? Where is that great “silent majority” in the South that ought to be up in arms against all this, up in arms about the fact that they are being discriminated against. Most of them must still be silent because I haven’t heard too much from them. After all, those reality shows really take up lots of time don’t they?

But, on the other hand, maybe some of them are starting to wake up and realize that they have been spat upon by those who are supposed to represent them. That truck I saw at the grocery store might just be a small part of that awakening. Let us hope, indeed, that the Southern giant begins to wake up and realize that he is being robbed of his heritage by those who were supposed to protect it for him. Congress–what a laugh!

For my part, I’d love to see 100 Confederate flags in parking lots all over this area–and if the perpetually offended are really offended, then maybe they do need a history lesson, though I doubt it would do much good.

Is the Confederate Flag “Becoming Illegal”?

Since July 4th is the day we are supposed to celebrate our “freedom” under this glorious Union, I thought it was appropriate today to take note of this short article I came across on the Rebellion Blog Spot the other day. It fit in so perfectly with our vaunted “freedom and independence” in the “freest country in the world” (according to Bush 2) I just couldn’t pass it up.

A man in a city in Florida was not happy with the politically correct stance of Walmart in their mad rush to empty their stores of Confederate flags after the tragedy in Charleston, which is conveniently being blamed on the flag instead of the medication the young man was on. So he went and stood in front of his local Walmart with a Confederate flag, fastened to a plastic pole.

It didn’t take the Thought Police, this time in the form of the local police, long to arrive to apprehend this most dangerous threat to society–after all this man was carrying one of those “racist” flags! The man was not aware anyone had even called the police about his activity until the local gendarmes arrived.  So, when a policeman ran toward him shouting “put the flag down! Put it down now” he was surprised and asked the policeman why. When he tried to explain to the officer why he was flying the Confederate flag, the officer, in his strictest “to protect and serve” mode shouted back at him: “I don’t give a flying f— about what you have to say, you know you can’t fly that flag.” Life in the “land of the free” ain’t it wonderful??? More policemen converged. So the man laid down his flag, was handcuffed and placed in a squad car, all the usual police harassment. Rapists and Muslim terrorists get treated better.

He finally managed to talk to one of the officers and explain why he was there with the flag, and the officer’s comment was quite revelatory. The officer said: “Well, I understand why you are doing this but that flag is becoming illegal and you can’t fly it here because it makes the people feel threatened, that’s why we’re here.” I wondered as I read the policeman’s comment–does the police department in this town know something about the future of the Confederate flag that they have not said anything about yet? Are there. indeed, plans to make it illegal and have these plans been spread abroad to police department around the country–especially in the South? As far as one man with a Confederate flag causing people to feel “threatened” you have to wonder if that’s all it takes to scare our citizenry. If that’s really all it takes to scare the living daylights out of our people, then the Muslims, Putin, or anyone else who wants to take over the country doesn’t need weapons–all they need are batches of Confederate flags to wave at everybody and any opposition to them will automatically disappear because the people will feel “threatened.”  The “threatened” populace will simply disappear–frightened to death by that horrible flag!

It would be interesting for the public to find out what plans our Ruling Elite have for this kid that shot those folks in Charleston. So far, in the past few years, he’s been the only shooter that has been taken alive. So you have to assume, with that goofy photo of him with the Confederate flag in his hand, that they have plans for him. Is he supposed to “testify” at some point and name all the “hate groups” in the South  that prompted him to do what he did, or what? And while we are at it, why not get a list of the medications this kid is or has been on? The fact that this kid is still alive points to there being some use for him in the future.

The theological and political left, along with our Ruling Elite, have been enemies of anything Christian or Confederate literally since day one and so if they see opportunity to use this kid as a tool to further their agenda against anything remotely Confederate or Southern, I have no doubt they will pursue such a plan with total abandon–and the prostitute media will give them all the cover they need.

A recent poll noted that, even after all this hoopla over the Confederate flags and symbols, Americans in general still supported the Confederate flag by around 57%, which is very close to where support for it was fifteen years ago. So the millions they have spent getting the prostitute media to demean the flag have been spent for naught. That’s not to say they will quit. “Those people” don’t quit. If they lose today they are back next week. That’s something we don’t seem to grasp yet.

You have to wonder about their plans for the 57% that still support the Confederate flag.Will they (or have they already) seek some kind of ban, so that in our professed “land of the free” we will no longer have the right to fly Confederate flags? Did the police officer’s comment about the flag “becoming illegal” inadvertently reveal an already pre-planned agenda for the demise of the flag?  And, if so, what will we do about it?

Folks, if y’all don’t have a Confederate flag it’s about time you got one–and started flying it!

The Battle Flag and the Gutless Wonders We Elect to Office

Another big flap over the Battle Flag. We have a repeat performance like so many that have gone on before. A white youngster kills a bunch of black folks in a church in Charleston, South Carolina and is photographed on the Internet with a Confederate flag in his hand and we are off to the races once again. This so much resembles some of the false flag events that have taken place over the past couple years that I really have to wonder. In this case the Marxist crowd gets to campaign against two of their adversaries, the Confederate flag and guns.

I looked at the picture of this kid on the Internet with the flag in his hand. Pardon me for saying so, but he really looked whacked out. He held the flag like someone had just shoved it into his hand and he wasn’t quite sure what to do with it. It was a tremendous photo op for the left.

And now, in typical Yankee/Marxist “reasoning” its the fault of that nasty Confederate flag that he did what he did. If we are to believe the “news” media it was the flag that caused him to go out and kill those black folks, therefore the flag must come down immediately if not sooner  (yesterday would have been better) and on and on it goes. The folks that follow this stuff know the drill by now. Another shooting done in a gun-free zone where it was already against the law to have a firearm, and still our Marxist-in-Chief calls for more gun control. One difference was that they got this kid alive where most shooters have turned up dead in the past few years. They may have propaganda plans for him.

Now no one in their right mind condones this sort of thing, but, as usual, the media is tugging at people’s emotional heart strings to get the desired reaction. To show how much emotional manipulation is going on with this, I saw a photo of a lady carrying a sign that said “My great great grandfather fought for the Confederacy but the flag needs to come down.” The results of 150 years of government school indoctrination!

What surprised me, and it shouldn’t have, I guess, was how just about all the politicians in both of our major socialist parties lined up to denounce the flag, from the governor of South Carolina right on down the line. They couldn’t get in line fast enough to say a bad word about the Confederate flag. And I fully expect, before we are done, that just about all the presidential candidates in both socialist parties will jump on board, fighting over who will be first in line to shout for the flag to come down.

It shouldn’t have surprised me that all these politicians (no statesmen here) were really just hollow shells, gutless wonders,  who are here to collect the votes that will help them to feed at the public trough, but when a really serious issue comes along, their honor and integrity melt fast than hot butter in July. They parrot the line their handlers have made up for them about the flag only representing “racism” and slavery and they honestly expect people to embrace this garbage because they have. And many will. But anyone who takes the time and effort to look at and study these rank political types will eventually realize that they are all hat and no cattle, that they are quite selective in their condemnation, and that, above all, as I said earlier, they are only out for the votes–no matter what they have to say or do to get them.

Therefore, it shouldn’t really surprise us that the Republicans are lining up to defame the flag. After all, that’s only  a repeat performance of what they did in the 1860s, in case anyone has forgotten. “Lincoln’s Marxists” are still alive and well in Washington and most of our state capitals, North and South. They never really crawled back under their collectivist rocks, they only pretended to.

And Now I have been informed that the Marxist crowd is planning the same game for the Mississippi state flag. Sixty-four percent of the folks in Mississippi voted to keep their present state flag several years ago, but now, some of the Republican leadership there have decided that the state flag will have to go. So you folks in Mississippi had best start to get ready for what’s going on now in South Carolina, because you are going to get it in one form or another soon. The Marxist crowd in South Carolina is close enough to victory that they can smell Southern blood–and they want more!

As hard as it has been over the years (one Southerner said getting Southern folks to work together was like herding cats) the various Confederate and Southern heritage groups will, quite possibly, have to learn to work together on this issue. Various left-wing groups hate each other’s guts and yet they do manage to work together on issues critical to the leftist agenda. Maybe we should take a lesson from that. I would think that the planned cultural genocide campaign against us that is looming just over the horizon is important enough to the preservation of our future in the South that we should be willing to help one another out, at least on this one issue. Cultural genocide will kill all of our groups and our culture in general.

So just maybe we ought to consider helping one another out as we are able in this instance, because we will receive no help whatever from those gutless wonders we have put into office. They have now become the “useful idiots” of the political left.
