The Times They Are Changing–And Not For The Better!

by Al Benson Jr.

Some of you, like me, may be able to remember the old “Cheyenne” Western series on television. There is a channel in our area that broadcasts lots of the old Westerns that were popular in the 1950s and 60s and I watch some of them.

Recently there was one of the old “Cheyenne” series on that featured a young man who rode around with a Confederate flag tied to the barrel of his rifle. In the show he ended up dying, but in the last scene, it portrayed Cheyenne taking the young man’s rifle and wedging it in the rocks atop a hill there so it stood upright, with the Confederate flag flying in the breeze. I thought, as I viewed that final scene, no way would that ever be allowed in any television series today!

In today’s Hollyweird the Confederate flag is viewed as horribly politically incorrect and as outright treasonous by the Biden Regime. Just ask General Milley about that! Some of you all may also remember that singer Johnny Horton did a song back in the 1950s called Johnny Reb. It was, basically a tribute to the average Confederate soldier and his dogged persistence in fighting four long years for a cause he believed it–and it wasn’t the continuation of slavery–contrary to what today’s leftist and neo-con “historians” tell you.

If you want to understand that war, then read Gene Kizer’s book Slavery Was Not The Cause Of The War Between The States. I don’t recall the exact figure, but I think it was something like 6% of the Confederate soldiers owned slaves and the other 94% didn’t. To think the 94% who never owned a slave were fighting so the other 6% could keep their slaves is ludicrous! Yet that’s what today’s “historians” would have us believe.

You will never see a movie or tv series today where the owner of a Confederate flag is not portrayed as some sort of racist monster who secretly desires to re-enslave all black folks. And it is all so much rubbish. When we had our own home I had a First National Confederate flag flying in our front yard. It had nothing whatever to do with race, but was rather my way of honoring my Confederate ancestor–who did not fight to preserve slavery, but rather fought because his state was invaded.

In the old John Wayne movie, The Undefeated, the Yankee officer, played by Wayne, asked the Confederate soldier why the Southerners are still fighting the day after the war has supposedly ended and the Confederate soldier replied “because you’re here.” That’s a pretty accurate answer for a movie, but then that movie was also made back in the 1960s I believe.

For the past 40 plus years Confederate flags, symbols, and monuments have been under almost constant attack by dedicated leftists who know better and by nutty neo-cons who should know better but never seem to learn. April is Confederate History Month. That means that those who truly understand what Confederate heritage is all about (not racism) should use this opportunity to protect and promote legitimate Southern heritage.

If you live in an area that has any Southern heritage events coming up that you are aware of, go out and take part if you can. Here in North Louisiana they always have the (Confederate) Flags Across The Ouachita in April. This year it will be on April 21st at 4 pm in the afternoon on the Lea Joyner Bridge between Monroe and West Monroe, Louisiana. If you happen to be in that area come on over and help the Sons of Confederate Veterans support our Southern heritage. At least drive by if you can and let them know you appreciate what they are doing. After all, it’s your heritage they are defending!

Sorry To Disappoint The Left-Wingers But Southern Heritage Ain’t Dead

by Al Benson Jr.

I realize the scions of the political and theological left have been trying to kill Southern heritage and culture for a long time now, but I have news for them–despite some victories on their part–it ain’t working. Oh, I realize they control the media and most of the educational outlets in the country, but the truth is that people who understand this are just finding ways to get around them. and ignore their diatribes.

April is Confederate History Month and there have been lots of Confederate events around the country that what passes for a news media just ignores. We have one right here in North Louisiana that is routinely ignored by the “news” media called Flags Across the Ouachita. Members from several Sons of Confederate Veterans camps in this area gather one Friday afternoon in April at rush hour on the Lea Joyner Bridge across the Ouachita River with their Confederate flags and display them to the rush hour crowd as they pass on by. The response by the rush hour crowd is overwhelmingly positive with people honking their horns, waving and giving us a thumbs up. They appreciate this display of our (and their) heritage. If response to this event was negative you can bet the “news” media would be on hand to make people aware of that, but since the response is mostly positive they ignore it.

I recently came into possession of a new book called What The Confederate Flag Means To Me published by Sea Raven Press P O Box 1484 Spring Hill, Tennessee 37174-1484. It is an interesting compilation of the thoughts and comments of over 30 different people, not all of them from the South, on what the Confederate flag means to them personally and how they view it in the overall context of American culture.

Two overarching themes come through many of their comments. One is that many folks view the Confederate Battle Flag in a Christian context. The St. Andrews Cross on the battle flag gives it a Christian context for them and Christian meaning for them. I can’t say I disagree. I have some Scottish ancestors as well as a Confederate ancestor and so the St. Andrews Cross is a part of my heritage on both fronts. And I am not ashamed of that–I am thankful for it.

The other theme that is reflected in many of the comments is that the Confederate Flag is recognized as a symbol of resistance to tyranny and “big government.” In today’s context I don’t think that can be argued with. In the main, the people who cannot seem to grasp that are those “useful idiots” that have been spawned and influenced by the leftists in this country.

Years ago those in the patriotic movement in this country recognized their their main adversaries were liberals, socialists, and communists. These are the exact same people who are opposed to the Southern Heritage Movement. That should tell you something. The liberals and socialists are nothing more than “slow communists” who just have not made the full transition over to full-blown Marxism quite yet. But they are working on it whether they even realize it or not.

There is a whole section in the communist “prayer book” on how to combat Southern heritage and the first chapter of that section tells them how to lie about it. Whatever else they have learned they seem to have memorized that first chapter! All they do is lie about us and our heritage and culture. These lies are supposed to shut us up. Mostly they don’t. They make us more determined to promote the truth and expose leftist fables for what they are. The leftists haven’t figured that out yet, but they will someday if given enough time. Our job is to educate ordinary folks and expose leftist lies and liars.

How We Fight Back

by Al Benson Jr.  Member Board of Directors, Confederate Society of America

Years ago I saw a Western movie about how a big rancher wanted to expand his holdings by driving a smaller rancher off his land and taking it over.  The smaller rancher didn’t boast and bluster about what he would do, he just quietly said “I’d advise you to leave me alone, because you won’t like the way I fight back.” And he didn’t. It eventually cost him his big ranch, lots of lost property, and lots of men.

It seems to me that folks in the Confederate and Southern Patriotic Movement have got to adopt the “you won’t like the way I fight back” mentality; because fight back we must, or our children and grandchildren will have no future worth the name. And when I say that I am not advocating illegal action. You can start looking for lots of legal ways to make our adversaries uncomfortable.

I just read an article that said the removal of the Confederate statues in New Orleans had cost $2.1 million dollars. Who’s going to pay for that? Supposedly, private funds were to be made available for that. Let’s wait and see. I have this sneaky suspicion that, when all is said and done,  the lucky New Orleans taxpayers will end up with most of the tab for this exercise in Cultural Genocide. Compliments of a mayor who wanted to please his black girlfriend!

On June 7th someone sent me an article about Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri, where they are getting ready to take yet another Confederate monument down. They had barriers up and roads blocked to keep people away, supposedly for “safety.” Maybe they learned something from the protests in New Orleans. And the man that sent me this article wrote one of his own for his email list called More Marxist Socialism in action. That’s a good description. This man realizes what’s going on with this removal of all things Confederate–Marxist socialism! He nailed it! In fact, the more you read about the War and its results, the more you can begin to see that, from a Northern perspective, it was really a grand exercise in Marxist class struggle.

I have just finished recording a 35 minute CD that deals with that and hope to have promotional copies to send out this next week to potential promoters.

This was much more than just a North-South struggle and we must start getting our own folks informed enough so they can get beyond that and take a close look at those involved, especially those Leftist radicals that embraced Lincoln and the Northern cause, as well as the people that financed some of them.

One man who wrote sent a list of suggestions along as to how we should fight back, and some of them were not bad. He noted that we need Confederate flags everywhere and a big one along Highway 70 in St. Louis, NOW.  That’s a good idea. Actually we need Confederate flags along many of our highways in the South–all on private property of some sort; big, beautiful Confederate flags that you can see from a long way off. Several SCV groups have been working on this project in their respective areas and have been successful, as you can tell by the flak they are getting from “progressive” groups like the NAACP and others. The flags go up and suddenly the Leftists want to “dialogue” about it. And we shouldn’t buy into that ploy. Dialogue with those people is the kiss of death for our Movement. Those people have been trying to destroy our culture and heritage for decades now and we are supposed to dialogue with them??? That’s bovine fertilizer, and not even a  very high grade of it! Tel them “thanks, but no thanks. the flags you don’t like stay up, and if we catch you vandalizing them then we will see you in court.”

The same man also wrote (and I agree with him here, too) “We need to expose the rulers of the cities for what they do, and for the results.” If people were really aware of the leftward tilt of some of these city and town council members or some of the mayors of their cities, they might think twice about supporting what some of these people propose in regard to doing away with our heritage. All their chatter about “inclusiveness” and “diversity” is nothing more than a way to shut us out of the process and that’s all it is.  I have read about where some of these people who have wormed their way onto city councils are “community organizers.”  Community organizers are mostly communists who don’t want to go by that name. We just had a president who was a community organizer, remember? I only ever had experience with one other community organizer in my life, and he was what they refer to as “the genuine Communist article.” It’s long time past Southern folks started exposing the Leftist connections of those who want our heritage replaced with their own, and with some form of Leftism that our grandchildren will be forced to swallow.

Some have called for a monument project that celebrates both Western Civilization as well as Confederate heritage, and, while that is not a bad idea, most of us realize that our pockets are not all that deep at this point, but it’s a thought for the future. Right now we need to concentrate on getting more of those Confederate flags up–always on private property, and exposing the real nature and origin of our adversaries, whether we do it in articles, books, billboards, adds, or however, making sure we have solid documentation for what we say about them, and finding ways to get that out to the public at large.

There will be more to come later, but let’s go with this for now–promoting both our flags and the exposure of our Far Left adversaries.

Lew Rockwell on Confederate Statues

by Al Benson Jr.

I read an interesting little blip on http://www.lewrockwell.com this morning, May 19th. It seems that the cultural Marxist Regime in New Orleans is to take down the statue of General Lee on this day. Mr. Rocklwell’s headline said New Orleans would “dismantle” the Lee statue. To me that’s a nice way of saying they are going to break it up, but then I’ve been known on rare occasions, to have a suspicious mind, so I could be wrong.

I will quote Lew Rockwell here so you all can see what he said: “But the disgusted may have a remedy: commission Confederate statues, or buy the discarded, and display them on private property.  In the South, far away from decaying federal encampments like New Orleans.  Create an educational park about secession, Lincoln’s invasion, and all related issues, featuring a first-class museum, library, courses, films, resident scholars, and more. Tell the truth. It would draw international attention.”

Such would be a positive response to all the negative fertilizer we hear about the monuments and our flags. I have read about and noticed across the South, that local SCV groups and others have been buying little chunks of private property, some of them not any bigger than my carport at home, and they have been raising big, big Confederate flags on them–flagpoles 100 feet high with flags 30-50 feet long. This is much to the chagrin of local cultural Marxist excuses for politicians who can’t do anything about them because the are on private property. That is the same principle that Lew Rockwell is talking about here.

I realize such endeavors would take a good bit of money, but it might be something area Confederate groups could begin to work toward as worthwhile projects. And if private property could be purchased in some areas from sympathetic property owners then efforts along these lines could be started on a modest scale and could grow as funds became more available.

My wife and I have friends over near Laurel, Mississippi that have what they call a “little home lending library”  from which they loan books out to local folks who are interested in various subjects. Why couldn’t something like that be done in regard to Southern and Confederate history and heritage? What you would need is a not-too-big piece of private property where you could put up a small building. Our friends’ home lending library is not huge by any means, it’s probably a little bigger than our kitchen at home, and we don’t have a big kitchen. Yet they have managed to get books, many from his personal library, about theology, history, politics, and other subjects of general interest. If we could just learn to start thinking along these lines we might be able to come up with lots of possibilities that could be done locally by a few dedicated people, and they would not have to be as big as the Smithsonian Institute–and most assuredly not as politically correct.

A final question–who owns the “dismantled” statue of General Lee?  Does the city of New Orleans own these statues and what will they do with them once they are all down? There might be various answers to that question depending where in the South you happen to be.

I have been told that the beautiful Confederate monument next to the courthouse in Caddo Parish in Shreveport is on private property and that the statue belongs to the United Daughters of the Confederacy.  I don’t know authoritatively, so maybe someone can fill me in. That may well be true, otherwise the cultural Marxists in Shreveport would already have been there with the wrecking crew, with masks on, at midnight, with police snipers posted on the courthouse, ready to take it down. They’ll probably still try to do that if they can get by with it–legal, illegal, or otherwise.

Somehow, we have got to start thinking along the lines of finding good places for those statues and monuments we may be able to rescue so that we can make sure they are put back up someplace that we have control over rather than some city with weaseling politicians.

Please pray about this, and talk to others who may have similar concerns and there may be things those who want to preserve their culture can do in some areas to blunt the attacks of the cultural Marxists. After all, if the city council of East Overshoe votes to take down the local Confederate monument, only to see it back up in someone’s pasture five miles outside of town in a couple or three months where it can still be seen, what have they gained in the long run except a good chance of being booted out of office in the next election?

April Is Confederate History Month–but the gutless will never proclaim it!

by Al Benson Jr.

February was black history month and if you are like me, you heard about it until it was coming out your ears. The “fake news” media never ceased to deliver unto us some little tidbit that had to do with some aspect of black history. And it didn’t all cease on the 28th of the month either.

April is Confederate History Month and I’d be willing to bet you haven’t heard the first word about it from the “fake news” media. This is one of those things that they, in their unending wisdom, have deemed you don’t need to know anything about and so the MSM will do as much as possible to make sure you remain totally unaware of this. It’s called “selective reporting 101.”

There was a time when some Southern governors would issue proclamations noting the observation of Confederate history month. However, in the past few years, most Southern governors seem to have developed a severe case of political intestinal discharge when it comes to acknowledging that anything Southern or Confederate is even fit to exst.

The governor of Mississippi seems to have been the one exception to this rule, for which I applaud him. If there are others that have issued proclamations that I am not aware of, I apologize to them for omitting mention of them.

Confederate and Southern history and heritage groups usually have various events during the month of April to mark Confederate history month. Their having such events and observations has become even more critical and important in a day when the cultural Marxists are busily trying to tear down any remembrance of Confederate history, from our flags to our monuments, even to school and street names. I have said it before (maybe some have grown tired of hearing me say it) but it still needs to be said. “Those people” (the cultural Marxists) want us all gone and forgotten and they are prepared to labor to make that happen. If you have observed the blatant cultural genocide being practiced upon us in the past couple years, you have to be aware of that.

I can’t speak too much for what goes on in other states, except possibly for Virginia, with the Virginia Flaggers. Those folks fight the good fight every month of the year and they must be doing something right because they get lots of flack. Here in Louisiana, the Sons of Confederate Veterans, as well as others who believe in preserving their heritage from the Leftist onslaught, take part in several events in April that highlight their preservation efforts.

A couple weeks ago there was a big Confederate flag caravan that drove all the way from Shreveport, Louisiana to Vicksburg, Mississippi and back again. This was on a Saturday afternoon and lots of folks on Route 20 saw all those cars, motorcycles and Confederate flags–going and coming. I understand another group did the exact same thing on Route 10 in South Louisiana.

Another event that occurs on a yearly basis here in North Louisiana is one called Flags Across the Ouachita. Those who support Confederate heritage and history gather on the Lea Joyner Bridge over the Ouachita River, with all manner of Confederate flags at rush hour on a Friday afternoon You cross over this bridge to get to West Monroe, Louisiana from Monroe, Louisiana, and it’s pretty busy during rush hour on a Friday, so lots of commuters get to see all those folks with their Confederate flags. And lots of folks honk their horns and give us a “thumbs up” to show their appreciation–which shows that, in spite of all the cultural Marxist efforts in this area, a goodly number of folks just haven’t bought into that agenda. These, and other efforts, let the cultural Marxists know that “we ain’t goin’ away easy.”

This year, a lady reporter and a cameraman from a local TV station happened by and stopped to talk to several of us and interviewed a couple of us. I let her know that all of us standing there holding Confederate flags were not native Southerners. I told her I was originally from New England and the next man up from me was from Ohio. This seemed to surprise her somewhat, but as we talked to her, we tried to convey the truth that this was, at root, more than a North-South issue–this is a cultural issue, and good sincere folks from the North who understand that, almost inevitably end up supporting the Southern right to celebrate and promote their culture.

So, folks, keep your ear to the ground. You just may find out that more of such events go on than you are aware of–and we don’t do them just in April That would give the cultural Marxists the other eleven months of free time to work at destroying our culture. So these events will take place when and where needed. One final thought–don’t depend on the MSM to enlighten you about such things. They have a vested interest in keeping you in the dark.

One Way To Fight Back–Sue The SOB’s

by Al Benson Jr.

Just yesterday (August 16th) someone sent me an article from the Courthouse News Service http://www.courthousenews.com written by Elizabeth Warmerdam about an artist in California suing the state for barring Confederate flags. The article notes: “California’s ban on state agencies selling or displaying items showing the Confederate flag is unconstitutional, says an artist who was not allowed to show his Civil War painting at the Fresno County Fair…Timothy Desmond sued the state on Monday, claiming the law prevents him from displaying his artwork at the Big Fresno Fair, operated by the 21st District Agricultural  Association on land owned by Fresno County. Artists display their work at the Fresno Fair every October. Desmond says the law violates the First Amendment.” One thing you have to understand here, the First Amendment only applies if we are not talking about Confederate flags or symbols.  In their case it does not apply–the law of government censorship in regard to anything Confederate then becomes the state and national standard.

Desmond does not agree. The painting he wants to display shows a scene from the 1864 siege of Atlanta and, guess what, there are Confederate flags in the picture, making it automatically verboten. Desmond is asking the Federal Court to declare California’s law as “unconstitutionally overbroad.” The bill was introduced in February of 2014, (even before the insanity in Charleston) by Assemblyman Isadore Hall, after his mother saw a replica of some Confederate money with the flag on it for sale in the Capitol gift ship in Sacramento. Governor Jerry Brown, that staunch advocate of First Amendment rights (for those that agree with him) couldn’t wait to sign this bill into law.So now an artist that dares to depict a Confederate flag in any sketch or painting might just as well forget his work being shown anywhere where the state has any say over what is displayed. That this smacks more than a little of state censorship is totally immaterial. After all, we are talking about Confederate flags here and everyone knows they should not be allowed to be displayed anywhere. Just ask any Communist and he will tell you! These are the folks that support Hillary in the upcoming “election” scam and they know what the game is even if most public-school educated Americans don’t have a clue.

So Timothy Desmond is suing the state of Commiefornia, oops, I meant California. Sorry about that. I wish Mr. Desmond well in his lawsuit. I don’t know if he will be victorious or not but at least he is making the state fight to enforce their censorship and ethnic cleansing.

In the same vein, the Sons of Confederate Veterans is suing the city of Natchitoches, Louisiana for them not being able to carry their battle flags in the annual parade there that they have marched in for years. The mayor in that fair city told them, basically, you are welcome to come but leave your flags in your vehicles, preferably out of sight. The SCV didn’t march. They picketed the parade–at both ends. Now they are suing the city.

The SCV groups in New Orleans also have a lawsuit against that city to prevent them from removing Confederate monuments. A court has stopped the city from trying to remove the monuments until all the litigation is out of the way.Of course New Orleans has been having some difficulty finding someone willing to take the monuments down.

And, according to an article in The Times-Picayune back in April of this year “Almost three out of four Louisiana residents oppose removing Confederate monuments and symbols from public space, according to a poll taken by LSU in February. Only 20 percent of people surveyed favored Confederate monument removal.” Of course we all know that to be politically correct (and culturally Marxist, which is their agenda for American society) the wishes of the 20 percent should be parroted and the wishes of the 80 percent should be ignored.  After all, the 80 percent are the ones that pay the bills. What do they know?

As much as we don’t like the concept of a litigious society yet more and more we are coming to the point where, to get any relief from what overbearing governments are doing to us we are having to learn to “sue the SOB’s” because nothing else seems to check their grasp for power. And although the courts most surely don’t always solve the problem, once in awhile they do rule in favor or ordinary folks and once in awhile the lawsuits make it just that much more difficult for over-grasping governmental bodies to force their will on us. At least, in some cases, it slows them down and makes then sweat to earn their tyranny.

Welcome To Cultural Genocide–Round Two!

by Al Benson Jr.

Last June after that “useful idiot” in Charleston shot those black folks in their church the country erupted in a “spontaneous” attack on all things Southern and Confederate. It was like a gigantic psy-ops campaign nationwide and I’m sorry, but spontaneous it wasn’t. It was only spontaneous if you believed the “news” (what a laugh) media.

At any rate, Southern folks resisted, fought back, and there was a whole batch of Confederate flag rallies around the South and flag caravans on some major highways, like I-20 right here in Louisiana and others. Confederate flags went up all over the place, in places you’d never seen one before, and the backs of pickup trucks carried them and it was great to see them all because they represented resistance to the cultural Marxist agenda.

But then things quieted down, the cultural Marxists backed off a little as the summer wore on and by the time autumn was upon us most of the Confederate flags had come back down and the pickup trucks didn’t sport them anymore. Things went back to normal, whatever that is anymore, and people went back to political slumber. What most people don’t realize is that this is a classic Marxist tactic–attack until you meet significant resistance and at that point back down because you’ve gone as far as you can, so back off and throw your adversaries off guard. And it usually works. It worked last year. It works because once people get stirred up about something and resist it you can throw them off guard by just quitting for awhile and letting them quit and take a breather. You know you will be back and they don’t. Once they go back to sleep you slap them in the face with round two and it’s that much harder for them to get remobilized and back to resistance and so you make hay while they are picking themselves off the couch. I noted last year that this is what would happen and it did. The cultural Marxists have come out of their corner fighting and our side is just now beginning to wake up and realize that this isn’t over. Eternal vigilance is something we are not conditioned to practice anymore.

Just this week our side has gotten slammed with something almost every day and from what I can see, we’ve barely started to respond yet.

I read an article on http://www.wdrb.com  about a petition being circulated to remove a statue of Jefferson Davis from the Capitol Rotunda in Kentucky and replacing him with a monument or statue of Muhammad Ali. Former State Treasurer Jonathan Miller is pushing this agenda and he wants Davis gone and Ali in. So he wants to replace a statue of a practicing Christian with a monument to a Muslim. Whether you realize it or not, this changes the history your kids get to view. One less statue of a Christian Southerner and one more monument to a Muslim. Washington, D.C. has to love it!

On the heels of this there was another article about the National Cathedral in Washington preparing to remove part of some of their stained glass windows because they have Confederate flags on them and they feel they can no longer have windows that portray “racist” symbols. The Confederate flags will be replaced with plain glass. I’m a little surprised they don’t want a Hammer & Sickle up there. The National Cathedral is run by the Episcopal Church. Now I grew up in the Episcopal Church and my wife and I attended it until 1971 when they started giving money to the Black Panthers and we decided we could no longer put money in the collection plate on Sunday that financed what we were opposed to the other six days of the week. We felt, at that point, that the Church had been taken over by liberals. Little did we realize at the time that it was really cultural Marxism and that it had been going on for decades. That knowledge came later. And, as we are talking about “racist” symbols, what about all those slave ships from New England that flew “Old Glory” when they went to Africa to buy slaves off black African chieftains? What about the Episcopalians in New England that made big bucks off the slave trade? Were they “racist?”

Then someone sent me a photo on Face Book this week of a man on a motorcycle in a parade in Saratoga Springs, New York on Memorial Day. The man had a big Confederate flag on the back of his motorcycle. I don’t know how he got into the parade, but from some of the comments in the article with the photo I almost got the impression that the folks that saw it were scared stiff at seeing a Confederate flag. You could almost, from their comments, see them running for home so they could lock themselves in and that nasty old flag couldn’t get in and  scare them. I mean, my heavens, folks, it’s a flag. It will not do you bodily harm. It must take massive doses of propaganda to make people afraid of a piece of cloth! This is almost the Twilight Zone anymore.

There was another article about the cultural Marxists trying to get a Confederate monument somewhere in Maryland taken down. They tried last year and the town council voted against it and so they were back this year again and again the town council voted to leave the monument alone. You can bet the cultural Marxists will be back next year and they may even try running someone for the town council that will vote their way, because they don’t quit. We do. They don’t.

Those that wish to keep at least some of their history and culture have got to start learning to fight back and to keep on fighting back. I know I’ve said this all before but it’s no less true now than it was last year. Had we managed to keep up our resistance last year we may well have blunted some of their efforts this year because when they came out for round two we would already have been there, ready for them instead of asleep. We have to learn how they think and we have to learn how to resist them on a continual basis. Until we do that they will keep on winning and we will continue to fight a rear-guard action that eventually loses us our history, faith, culture and heritage. So wake up, get your Confederate flags back up and learn to resist because, as I’ve said before, the history and heritage you save may be your grandchildren’s.

Federal Judge Promotes Cultural Marxism in Mississippi

by Al Benson Jr.

Just because you are a federal judge doesn’t mean that your rulings have to make any sense. All it means is that those rulings have to conform, above all, to the prevailing political theology. And the prevailing political theology (and it is a theology, make no mistake) is that any and all things Southern, white, and Christian must be uprooted from any and all places, starting in the South, and replaced with cultural Marxism.

Cultural Marxism IS the new political theology in this country and it will prevail no matter who ends up being president (Hillary) or how many states Trump gets stolen from him by the Republican Establishment, because both Republican and Democratic Establishment members are all avid practitioners of the religion of cultural Marxism. They live for it. As for the desires of the voters who pay the bills, they are absolutely last on the cultural Marxist list, if they even make it onto the list.

So it comes as no surprise that a black federal judge in Mississippi has issued a statement that the Mississippi state flag is now to be considered “anti-American.” In Judge Carlton Reeves’ fractured thinking the flag is anti-American because it represents those “who fought to leave the United States.” Does it surprise anyone that this man was appointed by Barack Obama to be a federal judge? It shouldn’t. This is the caliber of Obama’s appointees. The Great High Priest in Washington only selects those who will minister his decisions favorably in his churches (courts) so when I first read the article about Reeves’ stand on the flag in Mississippi the first thing I did was to check to see who appointed him.

This is the same judge who ruled in November, 2014 that Mississippi’s same-sex marriage ban violated the Due Process and Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. Had he not reflected Bishop Obama’s theology he wouldn’t have gotten appointed. He was confirmed in the U S Senate in December, 2010 by a voice vote, which means your slightly-less-than-honest senator can come back home and lie to you about having voted for him and there is no record of it.

But now we cut to the chase. Reeves issued his flag ruling in a lawsuit brought by Carlos Moore, another black lawyer from Grenada, Mississippi. Moore is asking Reeves to declare the Mississippi state flag “an unconstitutional relic of slavery.” While Reeves isn’t saying yet whether he will fully consider Moore’s lawsuit regarding the state flag, if you have half a brain you already know the answer.

And Moore’s rationale for all this is, get this, if the U S Supreme Court last year effectively legalized same-sex marriage all across the country, then the Constitution protects “a fundamental right of dignity and the state flag violates his dignity as well as that of other blacks. So, in order to get rid of this fundamental lack of black dignity we have to get rid of the present state flag. Replacing it with one with a hammer and sickle on it would probably be considered appropriate. Such a flag would truly reflect the theology of cultural Marxism.

Back last summer, after the orchestrated Confederate flag purge had begun I wrote an article for this blog spot entitled “Is the Confederate Flag Becoming Illegal?” Maybe some folks thought that was a bit over the top, but here, less than a year later, we have a federal judge who is perilously close to declaring a state flag with the St. Andrews Cross on it to be “unconstitutional” and therefore illegal. Folks, if you all follow some of this stuff, you know we are not making it all up!

Interestingly, Attorney Moore feels the Mississippi state flag violates his “dignity.” Well, I’ve got a question–what about the dignity of all those citizens of Mississippi and other places who have had ancestors that fought in the Confederate armies? Are not those of us who have Confederate ancestors due the dignity of celebrating and remembering our ancestors and trying to educate others as to what that War was realy all about–and it wasn’t “racism” and slavery. Those that promote that line either haven’t done the historical homework or they hope you haven’t. For those wanting a good history lesson as to what the War was really all about I would point you to an excellent article by Dr. Donald Livingston on the Abbeville Blog for April 15th. You can check it out at http://www.abbevilleinstitute.org

Dr. Livingston gives you some of the history you will never see in the “history” books Keep your eye on what happens in Mississippi in the next few weeks, and what happens with the cultural Marxist agenda as the warm weather approaches and the paid protesters don’t mind getting out and doing their thing. If you think last year was bad, then I think you’ve not seen anything yet. And there are lots of us in the South that won’t take our Confederate flags down no matter what these two black judges come up with.

April Is Confederate Heritage Month!

by Al Benson Jr.

Many Southern and Confederate groups around the country will be celebrating Confederate Heritage month this month (April, 2016). The governor of Mississippi has, for his state, designated April as Confederate Heritage month. Several states in the South used to do this every April until the “spontaneous” events in Charleston, South Carolina last June rendered them all gutless wonders–slaves to political correctness. It seems now that most Southern governors are deathly afraid to stand up for that portion of their populations that has Confederate ancestors, and that includes some blacks and American Indians.

Some news sources have informed us that protesters marched in Jackson, Mississippi to protest the governor’s proclamation. So who were these protesters? What organizations did they represent? None of the news accounts I checked out gave any indications. I guess that we are just supposed to believe that a whole bunch of individual anti-Confederate protesters suddenly materialized in Jackson to object to Confederate Heritage month. Pigs fly, too, so they say. One thing you have to remember about these “protests”–they always come from the theological and political left and they are never spontaneous! Can anyone spell N.A.A.C.P. or Black Lives Matter? I’m sure that are other leftist groups (and groupies) out there but these two are usually in the forefront.

We are all supposed to celebrate Black History month but we can’t celebrate Confederate Heritage month. Does anyone detect just a slight double standard here?

There will be several Confederate groups celebrating Confederate Heritage month this month and they will probably be seen in many areas waving Confederate flags. If you go up to some of them and talk in a civilized manner they will probably be glad to talk with you and will impart information you may not have been able to get anywhere else.

The perpetually offended need to get used to this because, folks, we ain’t going away no matter how much you whine. If your idea of celebrating your heritage means obliterating our heritage you can forget it! We will not play that game with you. I don’t care how much you and the “newscasters” that represent you try to tell the public it’s all about preserving the legacy of slavery and “racism.” We’ve heard that hackneyed line over and over and you know what? It’s all bovine fertilizer!

Over the decades most people have, via the “educational” institutions they attended, been reprogrammed (brainwashed) into believing that the South fought the War only so she could keep her slaves and so she could keep her thumb on black people. This educational drivel has been taught in so many places that most people don’t even think anymore, they just buy into it. But then, that was the idea wasn’t it?

A gentleman I talked with several months ago noted that the Confederate flag has not changed. It was always a soldier’s flag, nothing more. What has changed is people’s perception of it–and that has been intentional educational manipulation. Have their been some people that abused and misused the flag? Sure there were. Some have also misused the US flag, or the British flag or a host of other flags. Why not just call for a ban on all of them? Or may such a project is down the road a little way and they haven’t gotten to it yet–but be patient. The advocates of One World government are nothing if not patient!

We also have people now telling us that the Christian cross is “racist” or that the New Testament in the Bible is “racist.” I guess some of these folks would really like to ban everything except the Talmud and the Koran–at least everything Christian. At root, that’s what it’s really all about.

If you get rid of white, Christian culture and its symbols in the South then you can open the door even wider for more Muslims, more illegal immigrants, more folks who will forever change the culture here into something we only used to see in big cities up north.

I submit that the true “racists” are those trying to destroy white, Christian culture in the South (and other places as well). These are the cultural Marxists whose agenda has always been the destruction of anything Christian anywhere they could get away with it. And they have gotten away with so much of it here in the South because so many  Christian churches have been neutralized by doctrine that makes them all but impotent in too many areas.

If you think it’s bad now, just wait until this odd-ball kid that shot those black folks in Charleston comes up for trial. The left, and those in the Ruling Establishment that back and promote it, will use every possible means to turn that event into an anti-Confederate extravaganza.  Confederate and Southern Heritage groups had better start getting ready, because what comes down in the next year or two won’t be pretty.

“Brother’s War” or European Invasion?

by Al Benson Jr.

If you read what passes for “history” books in this country, especially in our excuses for educational institutions that we refer to as public schools, you will find very little, if anything, having to do with the demographics involved in the War of Northern Aggression. Until Donnie Kennedy and I started doing research for our book Lincoln’s Marxists I had read only snatches here and there about the different ethnic groups that populated this country during the 1840s and 50s. Once we started researching to find out more about the infamous socialist Forty-Eighters we wrote about we found all manner of information–very little of which came from traditional “history” books. We got a lot of information from biographies, which are sometimes more historically complete than history books.

But almost nowhere, except for a brief  comment here and there, did anyone deal with the number of foreigners that ended up in the Union armies. As I have said before, on several occasions, that was almost a forbidden subject.

What started me thinking about this again was a book I picked up back in the early 1990s at a library sale in Rochester, Minnesota when we were visiting there. The book was The Desolate South–1865-1866 written by John T. Trowbridge.  I had glanced through it here and there, but never seriously, until recently. It’s not an easy read for someone with my Southern mindset.  Trowbridge came across to me as a thoroughgoing Yankee type and it seemed, as I read, that he spent about two thirds of the book trying to make the North look good and the South bad. So what else is new? The edition I have was published in 1956.

Trowbridge took a trip through the Old Confederacy shortly after the shooting part of the War ended and I think what he wrote may have been one of the first psychological shots fired at the South once the Yankee/Marxists decided they could do  better with propaganda than they had with bullets. Cartridges couldn’t kill the descendants of the Confederate soldiers–propaganda just might.

However, in his early attempt at cultural Marxism, there were some things it was not easy for him to completely cover up.  In one of his jabs at the South, he and a reporter were talking to an ex-Confederate soldier who said “The Confederate army was never whipped!  We were overpowered.”  Of course Trowbridge and his friend had a snide laugh over that, but then the ex-Confederate said “It was the foreigners! You never would have beaten us if it hadn’t been for the foreigners that made up your armies.” The soldier had noticed something that most don’t talk about–the large number of foreigners in the Union armies. Of course Trowbridge and company had to make light of that and then move on to something less controversial, and less revealing.

However, if you stop and think about it, this Confederate soldier had hit on something worth considering. Recently I came across an article by an Andy Waskie called Foreign Soldiers in the American Civil War. Mr. Waskie noted: “Based on enlistment rolls and other official reports and stated in round figures, out of approximately 2,000,000 Union soldiers enlisted during the war over two-thirds were native-born Americans. Thus, only under one-third (1/3) of all troops were non-natives…”  Now stop and think about that for just a moment. The “only under one-third” that he almost seems to dismiss with a cavalier attitude, if his figures are correct, comes to something like 660,000 foreign-born soldiers in the Union armies! Folks, for my money, that’s a lot of foreign input.

Others disagree with his figures. One site I looked at, http://www.civilwar.org  observed that: “Maybe as much as a quarter of the Union Army was made up of foreigners–men who had not been born in America. Of these, the largest group was the Germans, followed by the Irish, Canadians, and English…Often regiments would be formed consisting entirely of men from one of these countries. The polyglot nature of the Northern forces  could sometimes create confusion when officers barked orders in several languages.” in other words, you had entire regiments of Union soldiers that were German, Austrian, Hungarian or whatever, that did not even speak English, and their orders had to be given to them in their native tongues. I have never seen a history book that I can recall that even mentioned this, let alone dwelt on it.

Another site, http://www.historynet.com  noted pretty much the same. It said: “Many of these immigrants joined the Union Army; the XI Corps of the Army of the Potomac was known as ‘The Dutchman’s Corps’ because it included so many German immigrants, but it became something of a catch-all for foreign-born recruits from throughout Europe and even the Mideast…Around 25% white Americans of the Union Army were foreign-born.” Soldiers in the Union Army from the Middle East? Wonder if it was some of those Muslims that Obama has told us helped to build the country?

The website http://www.Spartacus-educational.com was a bit more revealing. Of course they are also a bit more ideological. Their site noted, quite forthrightly that: ” Abraham Lincoln, a northern opponent of slavery was elected as president in 1861. It has been pointed out that without the support of an overwhelming number of immigrants, Lincoln would have lost the election.” So you could almost say that Comrade Lincoln was the “foreigners’ president.” He owed them, and they didn’t hesitate to collect in the way of generalships, ambassadorships, etc. The Sparacus article continued: “It is estimated that over 400,000 immigrants served in the Union Army. This included 216,000 Germans and 170,000 Irish soldiers. There were several important German born military leaders such as August Willich, Carl Schurz, Alexander Schimmelfennig, Peter Osterhaus, Franz Sigel and Max Weber…” All of the inestimable gentlemen here listed were Forty-Eighter socialists except August Willich, and he was an outright communist. Donnie Kennedy and I have dealt in some detail with all of these “interesting” personalities and more in Lincoln’s Marxists.

However you parse the figures out, it seems that you had somewhere between 400,000 and 600,000 foreign-born troops in Mr. Lincoln’s armies. While we have to admit that the vast majority of these were not socialists or communists, many of their commanding officers were. All of the above mentioned socialist/communist crew were generals! And we know that August Willich was one general that lectured his men on the glories of socialism/communism. That much is on record. How many more of these socialist turkeys did the exact same thing that we have never heard about?

All this should give you some hint as to why there was so much destruction  of private property in the South during the War and why some Union soldiers went out of their way to desecrate Christian churches in the South. That was, and is, all part of the Marxist agenda–and in one form or another–it has never ceased!

The agenda was to destroy white, Christian, Southern culture, and if you have not been slumbering for the past two decades you should have figured that out. The fact that more white Southerners haven’t figured it out is a testimony to the sleeping-pill effect that public education has had in the South since its birth down here as a major part of “reconstruction.”

So lets fast-forward slightly and look at today. We see a continuing and concerted attack here, and nationally, on anything Southern, Christian, and Confederate at all levels, the political, educational and cultural. Most of what we are fed in contemporary “culture” today is a finely-tuned and refined version of cultural Marxism. The cultural Marxists are having a field day, while most Christian Southerners sleep on, waiting for a “secret imminent rapture” that will not, and I stress WILL NOT remove them from the field of battle. As the Lincoln government sought the socialists and communists from Europe to swell the ranks of its armies, so the current Marxist regime in power in Washington is seeking the admission of hundreds of thousands of Middle Eastern “refugees” (terrorists) to swell the ranks of those that will water down and dilute Western Christian culture, and they are even hinting at making it a crime to say anything negative against them. These people and the illegal immigrants knocking down the borders are the storm troopers of the New World Order–and they are being and will be used in the same way Lincoln used the European socialists and communists.  See any parallels at all here?

We should learn from history–and not from the “history” we’ve been taught in school. We need to begin to dig and to find the truth for ourselves because absolutely No One that is part of the Ruling Elite wants us to grasp any of this. So ask the Lord to guide you and start doing the homework–and as you do the homework, ask Him to show you all the possible means of legitimate resistance to this One World Government agenda.
