My most recent article on the Unitarians and socialists controlling public schools drew so much negative response in certain quarters that I felt like I struck a raw nerve. That convinced me that I had done something right. When the leftists respond with vehemence to something you wrote or said you can tell you hit a nerve
The public school system is one of those sacred cows you are never supposed to touch. The leftists always respond in defense of public schools when patriotic Americans point out egregious things that system does. I can imagine, somewhere down the road, some erstwhile leftist in Congress will introduce a bill to make criticism of public education a “hate crime” committed by “domestic terrorists” and then all the commentators on CNN will spend every night for a week pointing out the holiness of public education versus the “evil” of those who dare to question what it is doing to, not for, our kids.
Alex Newman’s recent article in The New American magazine for June 21, 2021 Government Schools vs. Christianity gives us lots of information on those that have in the past, and still do, control what is taught in public schools. The articles goes into the efforts of socialist John Dewey’s work in that area. Many of you have probably heard of John Dewey but you have no idea of what he really stood for or did. Alex Newman describes him as an anti-Christian Utopian and I think he was right on the money there.
He says of Dewey that “Dewey, who visited the Soviet Union and wrote glowing reports about the supposed wonders of communism, is today almost universally regarded as the founding father of America’s government school system. Aside from his political and economic views, his ‘religious’ views were at the center of his efforts. Backed by Rockefeller money, Dewey was an avid foe of Christianity. In fact, he was one of the authors and signers of one of the most brazen public attacks on the Bible of the early 20th century. Dubbed the Humanist Manifesto , it was a total assault on Scripture, starting with the very first words, ‘Religious humanists regard the universe as self-existing and not created.'”
Newman described humanism quire accurately when he said “Humanism is basically a retread of the satanic lie found in Genesis 3:5–‘For God know that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil,’ that man can be his own god.” So the humanists, many of whom are Unitarians and socialists, parade their anti-Christian bias in plain sight. But there are dire implications for Dewey’s worldview, for us and our children.
Newman has observed: “And yet, if children are indoctrinated to believe in Dewey’s humanist religion, there can be no God-given rights, because there is no God to grant any rights. There are also no objective and eternal moral standards.” Do you begin to see where this kind of education is taking our kids?
Charles Francis Potter, one of Dewey’s good humanist buddies wrote a book back in 1930 entitled Humanism: A New Religion. It wasn’t, but Potter thought it was. And he raised a very good point, especially for Christians. He said: “What can a theistic Sunday school’s meeting for an hour once a week and teaching only a fraction of the children do to stem the tide of the five-day program of humanistic teaching?” I’ve asked that same question myself. I don’t like the answer. Yet most Christians seem satisfied to give the kids and hour of Sunday school once a week while sending them to public school to get 30-35 hours of humanist indoctrination–and then they wonder why they have problems with the kids! They can’t seem to figure out what the problem is. And quite possibly they can’t because they were “educated” in those same humanist public schools and were (mis)taught so they would be incapable of seeing the problem.
So many think if they just get in there they can reform the public schools. I know people who have tried that and have had to give it up as a bad job. That ain’t gonna happen folks. The public schools will not be reformed because they are doing exactly what they were created to do.
So don’t waste your time on parent teacher meetings and all the other trivia thrown in your way to distract you. Get your kids out of the public school system. Separate from it, secede from it, whatever terminology you want to use–get your kids out of it and keep them out of it! There are all kinds of Christian schools and home school programs out there. Do a little homework and find out what is available. There is a lot more available now than there used to be when my wife and I homeschooled. For your kids sake see what you can find.
